In 1999, the form of the grid changes.  Instead of using separate panels, the grid is a looser amalgam of masked images on a single surface that coalesces under a layer of encaustic.  The images overlap and take on a less geometric, (and more painterly,) feel.  This work also sees an increase in the incorporation of language, adding to the implied narrative.
