Soap 2004/2005

Over 2004/2005 Ms. Solondz learned to make soap.  Beginning with solid soap, the artist began with small pieces and worked up to large 6 and 7 foot slabs.  She became interested in the way soap transforms between liquid and solid states. Solondz then made vats of liquid soap, the consistency of heavy cream, that moved and rippled, (using motors). and into which she placed large solid soap slabs that slowly returned to liquid state.
